History:
Early 12th cent.:   Construction of the chapel, originally perhaps as a memorial chapel
14th cent.:   Partial rebuilding of the walls
16th cent.:   Construction of a side chapel with a vault beneath, which served as a burial place for members of the Pierce Lloyds family
Early 18th cent.:   Chapel becomes unused and falls into disrepair
